The AfriBOMB Bracelet is handmade using two meaningful elements. The paper beads are crafted in Uganda, where women artisans hand-roll each bead from paper, then paint and seal them for strength and a polished finish. These beads are paired with a heart charm made from recycled aluminium sourced from airplane parts and bomb fragments dropped across Laos during the Secret War.
AfriBeads partners with Sacred by Design, who work directly with Lao communities and support safe bomb-recovery efforts led by Swiss NGO Helvetas. Each bracelet includes the name of the woman who made it, giving you a direct connection to the artisan. The result is a lightweight, colourful and symbolic piece that blends ethical fashion with powerful storytelling.

IMPACT:
At AfriBeads, every purchase directly supports a collective of 30 Ugandan women artisans, providing them with a sustainable income and the means to uplift their families and communities. By crafting beautiful, handmade products from recycled and natural materials, these women gain financial independence, enabling them to feed their families, send their children to school, and foster community development.
AfriBeads is proud to be an endorsed Fair Trader of Australia, committed to ethical practices and the empowerment of women through fair trade. Your support helps break the cycle of poverty and creates lasting change—one bead at a time.
The ethical gifts by the Australian Social Enterprises here tackle some big issues. Your purchase helps them work with charities who are experts in the field and they make a difference in the space of empowering and rescuing women, improving human health, reusing items that would have otherwise gone into landfill, providing work and helping people break out of the cycle of poverty.
