Mood Tea: Making a Difference in the Mental Health of Young People
Mood Tea is a social enterprise that sells teas that are designed to improve mood. All profits from Mood Tea go towards funding mental health programs for young people. This support is critical as suicide is the leading cause of death for young Australians.
The tea is functional, crafted to match your mood, sourced from ethical farms and made right here in Australia. The tea bags are biodegradable and home compostable.
Since its launch in 2016, Mood Tea has raised over $1 million for mental health programs. This money has helped to fund a variety of programs, including:
- Peer-to-peer support groups: These groups provide a safe space for young people to talk about their mental health and to get support from others who understand what they are going through.
- Mental health education: Mood Tea funded a mental health education program for high school students. The program taught students about mental health, how to manage their mental health, and how to get help if they need it. The program was very well-received by students and helped them to learn more about mental health and to feel more comfortable talking about it.
- Research: Mood Tea also funds research into mental health, with the goal of finding new and better ways to treat mental health conditions.
- Recently, Mood Tea funded a research project into the effects of tea on mental health. The research project is still ongoing, but the early results are promising. The research suggests that tea can have a positive impact on mood and can help to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Mood Tea is making a real difference in the mental health of young people. By selling teas that improve mood and by funding mental health programs, Mood Tea is helping to create a world where young people can thrive. Mood works with three charity partners including Backtrack, Batyr, and The Sebestian Foundation.
